Diet Shift: GMO Food Dangers

A hallmark of our modern times is the fact that too many of us now eat processed, chemicalized, ersatz food. So it’s no wonder metabolic and digestive problems are on the rise, as are food allergies and obesity. There are real dangers in consuming the standard American diet. It’s time to get back to real food.

Agrarian Lifestyle

For millennia prior to the Industrial Revolution, most humans lived an agrarian lifestyle and people raised the food they and their families ate. Fast forward to 2012, and other than kitchen or summer gardens, most people don’t grow their own food nor do they put up food for the winter. Chronic Acid Reflux Can Lead to Cancer

If you want a real solution to acid reflux indigestion, don’t follow the conventional wisdom of conventional physicians. While drug companies and mainstream doctors maintain that acid reflux, acid indigestion and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) result from too much stomach acid, they’ve got the situation backwards: Reflux results from too little stomach acid, not too much.

Still, Big Pharma and its accomplices continue to sell us counter-productive prescription and over-the-counter antacids and prescription proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). In the long run, these alleged remedies worsen the situation.

Too Little Too Late

Acid reflux results from having too little hydrochloric acid (HCl), the “good” stomach acid. When the stomach does not produce enough HCl, foods cannot be digested properly. This causes indigestion, as food sits in the stomach far too long. The longer that food lingers, the more stomach acid is necessary to break it down. This stagnant situation leads to prolonged acid reflux.

Americans are in the habit of reaching for quick-relief tablets when experiencing pain and illness. In the case of acid indigestion, Continue reading

It Is All About Nutrition

Rumors are circulating regarding a potential European ban on natural herbal health products (The European Directive on Traditional Herbal Medicinal Products, THMPD). People, who prefer natural over pharmaceutical medicine, are rightfully concerned. There is no reason to panic however. Food is essential and cannot be banned. Ancient Hippocrates’ idea of letting food be thy medicine and letting medicine be thy food comes into its own in this situation. It’s a matter of understanding what will benefit and heal the body (and what won’t), and then being consistent in applying what you know. That way you may well have an edge over others, who take many expensive supplements (ignorant of the superiority of nutrients within their naturally occurring packages) and who are uninformed about important lifestyle facts. Continue reading
