Here are some terms used in health insurance and how they affect our payments to you.

Deductibles: This means you are obligated to satisfy a certain amount of out-of-pocket expense must be satisfied before any insurance company will pay any benefits. These are generally yearly obligations. If you have not met your deductible insurance companies will not pay for any care or procedures, until the deductible is met. Deductibles vary from policy to policy.

Co-Pays: This means that for every service rendered to you, you must pay a certain amount for the service. Your insurance carrier will automatically deduct any co-pays you obligated to pay, before you receive our money. Co-Pays vary from policy to policy.

PPO: These policies are most acceptable and generally will pay benefits in three-four weeks.

HMO: These policies pay slower because you are generally required to seek care from an HMO listed facility. Insurance billing is more complex and will however pay benefits in four-eight weeks. If you have an HMO, it might be in your interest to receive a referral to our E-Care plan from an HMO physician in your network.

IPA: These Independent Physician Association policies are restricted and service is given only by the IPA plan physicians or the Patient must be referred by an IPA physician. These Policies generally do not pay benefits and if they do, it will take at least three months. We generally do not accept these policies unless a letter of referral has been issued by the IPA Doctor.

MSO: These are Restricted Doctor Associations and will pay no benefits to any physician not in the Association. Patients may receive care only from a MSO Doctor. We generally do not accept these policies unless a letter of referral has been issued by the MSO Doctor.
