Today we’re going to talk about how to use MCT oil. MCT oil is a type of fat that is unique in that it can quickly turn into ketones through the liver. It doesn’t depend on the gallbladder, enzymes, or a good part of the digestive system, so it’s very efficient. 

Benefits of MCT oil: • It can help you fast longer  • It can give your brain and heart more energy  • It can give you more energy while you exercise 

When you first start taking MCT oil, you have to be careful not to take too much. If you take too much, you may have nausea, abdominal cramping, or diarrhea. You may want to start out taking 1 teaspoon per day and slowly work your way up to 2-4 tablespoons. 

How to use MCT oil: 1. Add MCT oil to your diet while fasting to help you fast longer (especially if you’re new to fasting) 2. Add MCT oil to your coffee or tea 3. Cook with MCT oil (don’t heat it over 320 degrees)  9. Take it while you take certain fat-soluble vitamins to enhance the absorption of the vitamins (vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin K)
