Mine Victims Group, Arab League Agree to Build a Telemedicine Network

The International Trust Fund for Demining and Mine Victims Assistance (ITF) formally agreed to help the Arab League develop a telemedicine network. The project is intended to reduce deaths and injuries sustained by victims of Middle East land mines, as well as by future victims from the eventual detonation of unexploded ordnance in the region, “and other causes of trauma and major injuries,” the ITF said in a statement. The ITF( and League of Arab States signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Cairo, eight months after the league hosted a Cairo conference (“Telemedicine, Mine Action and Development “) at which more than 40 representatives from 15 countries and nine international and regional organizations agreed to create a “sophisticated and integrated” multinational Middle Eastern Telemedicine Network
